A New Orleans native with a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Administration, she began her career with Fairmont and Hyatt Hotels before moving to Manhattan in 1998 to serve as Director of Marketing for The Cornell Club–New York.

Today, she leads every Venue engagement personally, working alongside a dedicated team of seasoned communications professionals whose expertise is matched to the needs of each project. Together, they provide clients with senior-level strategy and hands-on support across media relations, content development, influencer engagement, events and project management.
Throughout her career, Katie has advised global executives, entrepreneurs, chefs, developers, municipalities, tourism organizations and cultural institutions on positioning, media relations, brand launches, public affairs and growth-focused communications.
After more than two decades in New York City, Katie relocated to Park City, Utah, where she has expanded Venue’s work across the Mountain West while maintaining its East Coast relationships and perspective. She has been recognized by the Utah Restaurant Association as a Heart of the Industry VIP and was named one of Exeleon Magazine’s 100 Dynamic Leaders. Her perspective on entrepreneurship, hospitality and communications has also been featured in national and regional media.
Katie lives in Park City with her husband, James Beard Award–winning chef Galen Zamarra. Together, they share a passion for their two children, travel, art, opera and looking for their next best meal.
